PRE-TRAINING MEETING Friday, October 15; 3:00PM local time - A meeting ahead of the training program is scheduled with government representatives (ostensibly ICT consultant, Mr. Kole Abe and the governor's special assistant, Chief Segun Sorunke). Precise location to be confirmed (and a few other actions from government side).
The larger goal of this program is to exemplify selfless volunteerism among citizens of the state. The program itself aims to initiate the sharing, with workers of the Ogun State government, of what is globally current in administrative processes. The general focus is on the cultivation of increased familiarity with the Microsoft Windows environment and the more specific focus is on using Microsoft Office tools.
Monday, October 18; 10:00AM - The half-day program, including one-hour lunch break, is scheduled for the state secretariat. There'll be a discovery period to understand the business processes around the offices so as to channel the program to apply the Microsoft tools to support the specific processes. This process entails not so much how much participants know or do not know at the beginning, but where they stand at the end of the program. The training would be driven more by the processes in place than by the imposition of new knowledge.
FEATURES Microsoft Operating System - Windows XP Microsoft Applications - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; with time permitting, Internet Explorer and Outlook TEACHING AIDS OGPP Administrative Process Manual and some handouts to facilitate participants' learning would be distributed at the training program. There'll be some program-related documents to load on each PC ahead of the training. These would be made available at the Friday meeting. POST-TRAINING MEETING A meeting with government reps would be scheduled at the Friday meeting to assess the impact of the training program. Please submit your comments here. |
